This 16" 7.62x39 AR-15 upper combines a chrome moly HBAR barrel, carbine-length gas system, and 15" free-float M-LOK handguard in a fully assembled upper receiver configuration. The 7.62x39 cartridge provides a heavier projectile option for the AR-15 platform and is commonly used for hunting, recreational shooting, and general-purpose builds. Each upper is assembled in the USA and individually checked for proper headspace using Manson GO and NO-GO gauges.

Upper Receiver:
The upper receiver is forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and includes the forward assist and dust cover assembly installed. It features a matte black hardcoat anodized finish meeting MIL-A-8625 Type III Class 2 specifications.
16" 7.62x39 Chrome Moly HBAR Barrel:
The 16" chrome moly barrel features an HBAR profile, 1:10 twist rate, Parkerized finish, and 5/8x24 muzzle threads. A standard AR-15 big bore barrel extension with a single feed ramp is used for the 7.62x39 cartridge.
15" Free-Float M-LOK Handguard:
The upper features a lightweight 15" extended rifle-length narrow-profile free-float handguard machined from 6061 aluminum. M-LOK mounting slots run along the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions for attaching compatible accessories. The handguard features a matte black hardcoat anodized finish meeting MIL-A-8625 Type III Class 2 specifications.
Gas System:
A carbine-length gas system is paired with a .750" low-profile gas block with a manganese phosphate finish.
Muzzle Device:
The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 and fitted with an A2 flash hider.
Headspace:
Each 7.62x39 AR-15 upper is individually checked for proper headspace using Manson GO and NO-GO gauges before leaving Ballistic Barn.
Ready to Install:
The upper arrives fully assembled and is designed for use with compatible standard-dimension AR-15 lower receivers.
IMPORTANT AMMUNITION NOTICE
Steel case ammunition is generally acceptable for use in this upper. However, do not use lacquer-coated ammunition. The lacquer coating can heat up and accumulate in the chamber, which may contribute to extraction problems or stuck cartridge cases.
Important: This upper receiver assembly is not a firearm and can be shipped directly to you. No FFL is required.

7.62x39 complete upper
Shot about 60 or so rounds with no issues. looks nice; receiver and handguard match nicely. Only grip is handguard by the gas tube gets really hot after a couple of magazines.

My two 7.62x39 upper
This is the second upper that I have purchased through the company and the reason I purchased another one is the fit and finish of both of the upper are very clean I like how the company reached out to me with a email saying please contact us if we can help answer any questions or if i would even have any type of problems they are there to help but over all the upper of of a high quality build I am so happy with the way they have turned out getting ready to build the lowers on these uppers I will let you kmow how they preform at a later date when I build the lowers for them again thank you ar15 elite for building these uppers and caring so much by reaching out to me david m.

Heck of deal on this upper plus I have tons of this ammo. Looks great in OD Green since it will be my new hunting rifle. The single feedramp is flawless, no feeding issues at all.
